How did you become involved in the movement against human trafficking?

I had the classic ‘aha moment’ or an epiphany last spring as I watched a newscast about trafficked teens in my neighborhood here in Virginia. At that moment, I realized that all those years ago when I’d been in the streets of New York, the man who’d exploited me had actually been trafficking me.

How to Relax

Circumstances (better known as snow, ice, and fog) have conspired to give me my off-day… which is being lovingly filled with twitchiness, anxiety, and restlessness. Which means that I need to make myself stop, sit or lay quietly on the floor, and try to purge enough to actually enjoy the silence. Maybe I will try curling up on the couch with a book, or perhaps I will just stare at the ceiling. All I know is that I should do something slightly away from this frame of reference to see if it helps soothe the edges back down. Why they’re up is beyond me, though it’s probably something or another bipolar related. Ha, everything is something or another bipolar related — that’s life with bipolar!

*eyes massage chair* I think… I will start with you, good sir.
